VIXY Exposure and Basic Characteristics
VIXY is unleveraged long VIX ETF by ProShares. Its exposure is similar to other 1x long VIX ETFs/ETNs like VXX (iPath/Barclays) or VIIX (VelocityShares). It is designed to track the performance of S&P500 VIX Short-Term Futures Index (long positions in the two nearest expiration months of VIX futures with constant maturity of 1 month). These exchange traded products are popular ways to get exposure to the VIX (CBOE Volatility Index), which is not investable itself.
